‘I know SON did well’ BBC “Korea limited to Son Heung-min, Hwang In-beom shots against Wales”

The BBC reports that South Korea is relying on certain players.

The South Korean men’s national soccer team, led by Klinsmann, drew 0-0 with Wales in an exhibition match at Cardiff City Stadium in Cardiff, England, on Aug. 8.

Since his appointment in March, Klinsmann has coached five A matches, including one against Wales, but has not won a single one. After two draws and two defeats in four A matches between March and June, he added one more today.

Klinsmann deployed a 4-4-2 formation. ‘Captain’ Son Heung-min was tasked with leading the South Korean attack by forming a two-two with Cho Kyu-sung.

온라인바카라South Korea’s play in the first half was frustrating. The midfield seemed to completely disappear in the first half. Despite utilizing the flanks, the passing was not smooth. This is why they only had one shot on goal in the first half.

Through 90 minutes, South Korea had four shots and one on target, while Wales had 11 shots and four on target, including one that hit the post. South Korea had 60 percent of the ball possession but could not capitalize.

‘Captain’ Son Heung-min did his part.

In the 39th minute, he personally shook the Welsh left flank once before unleashing a right-footed curling shot from outside the box near the left corner. It went straight at the keeper.

In the 42nd minute, Son Heung-min linked up with Kim Min-jae in a brilliant combination. Kim saw Son Heung-min on the left flank preparing to charge into the box and sent in a ‘courier cross’. Heung-min made a good move to get in on the ball, but was narrowly caught offside.

In the second half, Son continued to stand out. In the 11th minute, he caught Wales off guard. He hit Hoe-Seom’s shot from outside the box. However, the ball sailed over the bar.

The game ended in a 0-0 draw, but Son Heung-min showed why he is the captain.

“It’s a huge honor and privilege to wear the captain’s armband of a national team and a club,” Son said at the pre-match press conference against Wales, according to The Independent, a British newspaper. “Being a captain is not something you say. You have to show it through your actions. You have to show that you can be a leader of the team on and off the field.”

Even though South Korea didn’t win, Son Heung-min stood by his words.

However, in a national team game, where you have to play as a “one-man team,” it’s best for everyone to play well. Relying on one player is not the way to win.

The BBC pointed this out.

“Despite dominating possession, South Korea were limited to mid-range shots from captain Son Heung-min and Hwang In-beom,” the BBC wrote. Hwang In-bum, who started alongside Son Heung-min, broke the deadlock in the 14th minute with a mid-range left-footed shot.

South Korea will play Saudi Arabia on Sept. 13 at St. James’ Park in Newcastle, England, in their second September A match. In this match, Klinsmann’s side will need to play better than they did against Wales.
