Oh Seung-hwan’s former colleague, Oberg, announced his retirement from active duty.

Right-hander Scott Oberg (33), who kept the bullpen with Oh Seung-hwan for the Colorado Rockies, announced his retirement from active play.

Over said on his Instagram on the 11th (Korean time) that he would end his active career, saying, “I have decided not to play baseball, which I have loved all my life, anymore.” 안전놀이터

Drafted by the Rockies in the 15th round of the 2012 draft, Oberg made his big league debut in 2015 and went 18-8 with 54 holds and 7 saves in 259 games over five seasons with a 3.85 ERA.

In four of the five seasons, he appeared in more than 56 games and took on an axis of the bullpen. In the 2017 and 2018 seasons, he contributed to the team reaching the postseason.

There is no record of active participation since the 2019 season. There was a reason. He could not continue his active duty due to a blood clot. He tried to comeback for years, but eventually gave up.

Oberg plans to start a new life as a contract front for the Rockies.
