SSG Landers head coach Kim Won-hyung bowed his head in response to the group harrassment and assaults within the Futures (second team) squad.
“It shouldn’t happen in this day and age, and I’m sorry that it happened,” said Kim Won-hyung in response to the assault on the Future team ahead of their 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League game against the Doosan Bears at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on 11 November.온라인바카라
A few days ago, an assault on the SSG Future Team surfaced through a report this morning. According to the club, player A had criticised rookie B’s attitude at the SSG Futures Field in Ganghwa, Incheon, on the 6th of this month, gathering the juniors together and ordering a group slap. Afterwards, another senior player, C, blamed B for the abuse, and another player ordered the juniors to do the same.
A day later, on the 7th, SSG reported the incident to the KBO Clean Baseball and requested an investigation. The club immediately suspended the players from official games and training, interviewed them to find out the facts, and submitted a report to the KBO on the 9th.
SSG also came under fire in July 2020, when it was the SK Wyverns, for an assault within its Future Team. That was just three years ago. At the time, the seniors assaulted the juniors as a way of disciplining them for drinking and driving, driving without a licence, and leaving the hostel without permission. The KBO suspended the players involved and fined the club 20 million won for failing to report the situation to the KBO.
Kim Won-hyung was not the SSG commander three years ago, but said, “I think it was a mistake in many ways. I thought the last incident would prevent it from happening again, but it happened again. I don’t have any words to say about it. Once again, I apologise in many ways. I will do my best to prevent recurrence,” he apologised again.
